Welcome to summer – which means lots of time and warm weather to get outside and play! Here in Colorado, we are fortunate to have so many great rivers and streams for us to enjoy in boats, with fishing rods, or as the setting for many hiking and biking adventures!
Thanks to a strong partnership between the Bureau of Land Management and Eagle County Open Space, we recently released the new Upper Colorado River Recreation Guide! The guide is currently available online and will be printed in a waterproof booklet and available for sale through Eagle County Open Space real soon. The Upper Colorado River Recreation Guide is an excellent tool for planning trips through the Upper Colorado River Special Recreation Area and throughout Eagle County, and includes a brief history of the region and it’s wildlife as well as critical information about river safety and etiquette. The guide also features an updated river map identifying access points, hazards and camping opportunities.
We will be incorporating the information from this guide into the Eagle Blue Trail website and interactive map as well, to provide a comprehensive online source for all of this key information. The Eagle Blue Trail website and the Upper Colorado River Recreation Guide are important resources to help locals and visitors plan trips and excursions along the Upper Colorado River corridor.
Thank you Bureau of Land Management and Eagle County Open Space for working together to provide this valuable tool for everyone to use and enjoy! Check out the Upper Colorado River Recreation Guide and start planning your next outdoor adventure today!
